A reflection of the not so long ago. This collection of paintings from 2009, is not about buildings or places, but about the personal ghosts and memories they evoke... 1954, the feeling of rejection after not being hired as a sign writer for Stop-N-Shop... agonizing over trying to pay the bills from my Town & Country sign shop's meager income.... 1960, having an after work drink with Fred Wade at the Hob Nail, planning our futures... watching "Two Lane Blacktop" from the balcony of the Alhambra Theater and wondering, "What the hell that was all about?"... 1964, innocent family outings at the California State Fair... how much fun it was to work for radio or TV stations when they were locally owned... fine dining at Bedell's with real linen table clothes. Gone, but not forgotten.
